Chewbacca Part 3

Han’s friends met up on Tatooine to rescue him from Jabba’s palace using a very intricate plan to rescue him which involved all of their help. Lando was hired as a skiff-guard for Jabba the Hutt to gain a good position to help with the rescue. R2-D2 and C-3PO were sent to Jabba’s palace with a message requesting the release of Han Solo but Jabba scoffed at the message and put the droids to work among his staff.

Since Han was not released, Leia came disguised as a bounty hunter named Boushh with Chewbacca as a Prisoner to sell to Jabba to gain favor with the gangster. Jabba paid 35,000 credits for Chewbacca and allowed Boushh to stay in the palace. Chewbacca was roughly thrown into a dark jail cell. Later that night as everyone slept Boushh silently crossed the huge room to the frozen captain Solo and initiated the thawing sequence releasing him from the carbon-freeze, which left him temporarily weak and unable to see. Han being unable to see wished to know where he was and who his rescuer was. He found out he was in Jabba’s palace and Leia was the one who had set him free. Leia was helping Han to the exit, but stopped short as the laugh of Jabba the Hutt echoed throughout the palace, they were caught!

Leia was held captive and Han was thrown into same cell that Chewie had been placed in. When Chewbacca found his best friend was in the cell with him he ran over and hugged him joyously nearly squeezing him to death and told him all about the rescue plan.  Luke arrived the next day and demanded the release of his friends, threatening Jabba’s life if he didn’t obey him. Jabba scoffed at him unimpressed by the young Jedi, just then Luke stole a guard’s pistol meaning to shoot the Hutt but he was standing on the trap door of the Rancor pit and just as he was about to fire, Jabba hit the release and Luke fell into the pit. In the pit a huge door opened to a giant Rancor which upon seeing Luke tried to eat him but Luke ran through the large doorway and threw a rock at the door release sending the door crashing down onto the Rancor’s head instantly killing it.  

Jabba was very angry his “pet” had been killed and ordered the Rebels to be executed by being thrown into the Sarlacc a giant creature with many tentacles and a large plant like mouth living in the desert. So Jabba and all his minions loaded onto a huge Sailbarge and headed out to the Sarlacc pit. When they reached the Sarlacc Luke, Han and Chewbacca were taken above the creature aboard a Skiff with the Sailbarge right across from them for all aboard to see the execution. The Rebels plan included the possibility of the current scenario playing out so they had prepared for what was about to transpire. Their punishment was announced and a plank was extended over the pit. Luke walked to the end of the plank, and R2 who was waiting on the Sailbarge with Luke’s lightsabre, launched it to him as he jumped off, grabbed the end of the plank and flipped over the guard landing on the skiff, the battle was on!

Luke attacked Jabba’s men while Han, Chewie, and Lando fought the guards on the skiff to capture it for their escape. Boba Fett came from the Sailbarge when the fighting began, to help Jabba’s guards but ended up getting knocked into the Sarlacc by Han. Leia who was on the Sailbarge with Jabba during the battle strangled Jabba the Hutt to death with a large chain so ending the vile crimelord. Luke jumped onto the Sailbarge to rescue Leia before she could get injured. He found her on the upper deck and told her to aim the main gun at the deck then he grabbed a rope, fired the gun with his foot and swung to their captured skiff with Leia as the Sailbarge began to smoke and spark. Lando quickly flew the skiff away from the Sailbarge as it exploded in a huge ball of fire sending pieces of metal and criminals all over the desert.

After the daring rescue Luke, Leia, Lando, Han and Chewbacca met up with the Alliance fleet which had learned about the creation of a second more powerful Death Star. The time was right for it to be destroyed because it was not finished and the Emperor himself was aboard the space station to see to its completion. The plan of attack the Alliance had thought up involved sending a strike team led by Han Solo to the forest moon of Endor to take out the shield generator protecting the Death Star which would allow the Rebel starships led by Lando aboard the Falcon, to destroy it.

Luke, Leia, Chewbacce and the two droids volunteered to join the strike team on the mission to Endor. When the strike team reached Endor and landed on the surface they were in a forest covering the entire planet, with huge trees standing hundreds of feet tall and dense vegetation everywhere. The strike team headed into the forest and upon reaching a clearing Han told the soldiers to wait while he, Chewbacca, Luke, and Leia scouted on ahead. Spotting some Imperial soldiers up ahead Han and Chewie went to investigate so Luke and Leia watched them sneak up behind an unsuspecting soldier but Han stepped on a twig at which the soldier quickly turned to attack. Two other soldiers who were nearby jumped on their speeder bikes* to get help and Luke and Leia gave chase on speeder-bikes to stop them, leaving Han and Chewie behind. The soldiers were both killed but Luke and Leia were separated.

Han took out the soldier that attacked him and returned to the strike team to await his friends’ return but only Luke returned and didn’t know where Leia had gone, so they went to find her and sent the soldiers to wait at the shield generator. While searching for Leia, Chewbacca smelled something and ran off see what it was, when the others caught up to him they saw a dead animal hanging from a tree, and Chewie being hungry grabbed it and suddenly they were caught in a large net high above the forest floor. They began to cut the net, forgetting how high up they were when suddenly the net fell apart sending them hard to the ground. When they fell they were surrounded by small bear-like creatures called Ewoks who were armed with spears. The Ewoks took Han, Luke, Chewie and R2 as prisoners to their village high among the trees. Upon reaching the Ewok village they found out that Leia had been befriended by the Ewoks and taken to their village. After becoming finally convinced that the captured Rebels were friends, the Ewoks released them and after hearing their story, offered to help the Rebels with their mission against the Empire.

The next day the strike team went to the shield generator to begin their mission, seeing the guards the group prepared to take them out but one of the Ewoks ran and jumped on a speeder-bike and sped off followed by most of the stormtroopers.  After capturing the guards the strike team entered the bunker to and began set charges to destroy the shield generator but just as they were about to finish Imperial soldiers rushed in and surrounded the strike team, took their weapons and led them out of the bunker.

R2 and 3P0 who had not been captured lured some of the soldiers to come after them so the Ewoks could jump the unsuspecting Imperials. When the soldiers reached the droids, horn blasts sounded all around and an army of Ewoks appeared from the foliage and began firing arrows at the confused Imperials. The strike team members took their opportunity with the soldiers being confused and joined in the fight taking out their captors and running for cover. The Imperials were aware of the Rebel Alliance’s plan to take out the shield generator so they stationed a large army on Endor to protect it and crush the Rebels. The battle was very one-sided with the Imperials having many armed soldiers, speeder-bikes, and many AT-ST’s.

The Rebels were almost defeated when the Ewoks being the clever species that they were started to figure out the Imperials weaknesses and exploited them with Chewbaccas help. Chewbacca along with two Ewoks came up behind a walker, climbed a tree and swung on a vine landing on the machine, and after taking out the drivers the walker was theirs. Chewie quickly figured out the controls and began causing havoc taking out confused Imperials left and right finally ending up at the bunker entrance.

Han and Leia, who were using the bunker for cover looked up and saw the walker standing in front them and put their hands up but to their surprise and relief Chewbacca popped his head out of the hatch. Han used the walker’s videophone to tell the Imperials to send backup, believing him to be one of their own they granted his request but when they came out of the bunker they were quickly surrounded by Ewoks, they’d been had! Now the battle was over with the Imperials as the losers and it was time to destroy the generator, so Han set the charges and ran as fast as he could and dove for cover as the shield generator bunker exploded sending flames high above the forest. With the shield down the Rebel starfighters flew into the Death Star’s superstructure and destroyed the reactor core causing the single greatest explosion ever seen.
